Mr. Jimmy Harold Bush of the Pea Ridge Community died at 1:14 p.m. Wednesday afternoon October 23, 2019 at his Pea Ridge Road home surrounded by his family including his wife who had cared for him since February. The 80 year old Mr. Bush suffered from dementia and died five days before his 81st birthday.
Mr. Bush was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment were conducted Saturday morning
October 26that 10 a.m. with Eld. Frank Randolph officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Gethsemane at Smith County Memorial Gardens.
One of two sons, he was born Jimmy Harold Bush on October 28, 1938 in the Smith County section of the Buffalo Valley Community and was the son of the late Jimmy Leaman Bush who died at the age of 77 on January 8, 1982 and Mary Belle Randolph Bush who died at the age of 83 on June 18, 2004.
His brother, George Lee Bush preceded him in death on May 6, 2004 at the age of 63.
On October 4, 1958 he was united in marriage in Buffalo Valley to Chestnut Mound Community native, the former Willodean Clayton.
They were preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jennifer and Matthew.
He was a member of the 1957 graduating class of Gordonsville High School.
Mr. Bush was a member of the New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in the Pea Ridge Community.
He retired in 2000 as a construction foreman for Marks Construction Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife of just over sixty one years are their three sons, Gary Bush and wife Gloria of Chestnut Mound, Randy Bush and wife Wanda of Carthage, Mickey Bush and wife Holly Petty Bush of the Pea Ridge Community; five grandchildren, Zach Bush and wife Victoria, Nathan Bush and fiancée Christina, Brandon Gambrell and wife Mandy, Grace McCloud, Denise Vantrease and husband Shawn; one great-grandchild, Emilia Bush.
The family has requested memorials to the New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
